Face Cream Sale! (Today Only!)

With the seasons changing, Lulu decided to put her face creams on super sale! Snatch up a super moisturizing Night Cream or Day Cream for only $20 (originally 37.50)! That's a lot of savings!

3 Easy Tips for Healthy Skin!

Your skin is your biggest organ, and it's likely that when you meet someone new, it's the first thing they notice about you. People spend thousands of dollars every year on skin care products that don't really work. Luckily there are some natural things you can do in your day to day life to improve the health and appearance of your health!

First, these are some of the most common cause of poor skin:

Problem: Sun Damage

We know it's tempting to lay out on the beach to catch some rays for a darker complexion, or even swing by the tanning bed after work. Although this may change the appearance of your skin positively in the short-term, it will absolutely ruin your skin in the long term! It not only causes premature aging, spots, and wrinkles, but often leads to painful and even deadly skin cancer.

Solution: Sunscreen: Wear Sunscreen everyday. It doesn't matter if it's cloudy or sunny or cold or hot, you should make sure that your skin, especially your face, is protected with SPF. There are many moisturizers, BB creams, and toners that have SPF in them. Be sure to protect your beautiful assets!

Problem: No Hydration:  If you've ever felt that dry, stretchy, or flakey feeling on your skin, then you are probably not getting enough hydration. This comes about often when it is dry outside and there is no moisture in the air, or whenever there is a change in temperature or weather.

Solution: Moisturizer and Water: The number one cure for dry skin is drinking water, and lots of it! Skin cells are made of water, and they need to be replenished regularly. You should also be careful of the makeup you use. Is it drying out your skin, and leaving you flakey and chalky?  You should also feed your skin externally. After showering or placing a warm washcloth over your face to open your pores, apply a moisturizer that is sure to sink all the way into your skin, rather than sitting on the surface.

Problem: Snack Attack: Eating fast food or grabbing a a processed snack may be convenient for you, but it is not so convenient for your skin. Your diet provides nutrients to all parts of your body, including your skin cells! Your skin needs certain vitamins and minerals in order for it to look its best.

Solution: Diet and Exercise: Changing your diet to include fibers, vitamin C,  vitamin A, and healthy fats will do wonders for you skin cells! Citrus fruits, strawberries, and broccoli is full of vitamin C, which helps your body to manufacture collage and keeps skin looking young. Vitamin A helps to smooth your complexion which is found in carrots, squash, and green leafy vegetables. Healthy fats like nuts, avocados, and seeds are full of omega-3 fatty acids which are great for skin health. Additionally, working out will help to increase your blood flow, and bring the glow back to your face!

Ingredient Spotlight: Peaches!

There is really nothing as sweet, juicy, and refreshing as  a late-summer peach. The taste, texture, and smell are simply incomparable. Not only are peaches a tasty treat, but they're good for you too!

Peaches are a great source of potassium which helps to combat fatigue, anxiety, muscle weakness, unhealthy skin, poor memory, hypertension and heart problems. Is there anything this fuzzy fruit doesn't  help with?

Another benefit of peaches is that they are packed with  beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A. This will help to prevent  cataracts, the immune system, bones and teeth, and the urinary system.

Peaches are also high in fiber, lycopene, and lutein! They are a great source of vitamin C, and helps fight cancer.

So grab a peach! Slice it, spice it, grill it. Make a cobbler, a compote, a preserve, or eat it just plain raw. Indulge in this sweet treat without feeling guilty!
